In
June of 2003, I purchased FINCH'S PEACEMAKER PARTI (Gunner) and
then put him out on the show circuit with Lynn Meyer that
August. |
Lynn showed him only 8 times, taking nothing less than Reserve,
and he promptly finished within 2 weeks. Not only did he finish
with a 3-point, a 4-point, and a 5-point major ... but the
5-point major was at the Des Moines Specialty Show. |
|
People, including
myself and Diane Finch (his breeder), were amazed that Gunner
finished that fast as a mismark with front white boots. Being
totally new to showing at the time, I didn't realize what a
remarkable feat that was and I often refer to Gunner as "The Boy
with White Boots". I kept the email that Diane sent me telling
Christine Heartz about Gunner's championship: |
|
September of 2003:
"Christine - Yesterday I got to witness Colt's 8th offspring
finish her championship in grand style. Passion needed only one
single point to finish and she finished with a 5 point major at
the Des Moines fall specialty! But she wasn't the bigger thrill
- Gunner (Finch's Peacemaker Parti ) went WD for a 5 point
major. Last weekend was his first weekend out and he got 2
majors last weekend; now his third show and he gets another
major and today he went WD (in Wisconsin) for 1 point and then
went BOB over Lynn's special … so last I heard she was going
back into group with him. |
|
Gunner just blew
me away with his movement!!!! And he has power in his reach and
drive - you'd think you had a big dog pulling you along. I had
to lead him back in for BOB yesterday. This boy, if he can
finish tomorrow, will finish the fastest I've ever finished one
of mine. If his Parti sons can do this, it will be an awesome
Parti. Lynn shows him tomorrow for one point so I have my
fingers crossed. Diane (Finch's Pomeranians Ltd., http://www.finchspoms.com)" |

And the rest ... as
they say ... is history. Gunner’s sire is Can. & Am. BISA CH

Heartz in Canada, and Gunner produces a large percentage of
parti's with excellent conformation. Gunner is also the first
Pomeranian in breed history to achieve his ROM (Registry of
Merit) from 6 parti championed offspring, including: |
|

(2) CH FinchsChars Makin Waves Parti (Splash) 2004

CH Finch's
Peacemaker Parti, ROM:
First Pomeranian in breed history to attain an ROM
(Registry of Merit) from 6 championed parti offspring.
Gunner (now 7 years old) enjoyed his visit with old
friends at the 2008 Pom Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky
last month and sat on my lap during most of the show. He
even got to see his handler, Lynn Meyer, who gave him the
old "cookies" he loves so much. I sent his new pix to his
breeder, Diane Finch, whose comments was ... "He's a coat
factory!" |
